Sure wish we could come up with a formulas to keep them from gassing.  Such a shame to lose so many wonderful pieces of cutlery history

It's a pale green with black swirls, Jan. That type/color of celluloid has a nasty habit of gassing so I keep a close eye on that one. Robert Palantonio of Colonial said that the little hatchets were sort of a novelty that the Italians used when they were hunting wild mushhrooms to use in preparing there food!!!
