Rest assured, my friend. I am currently engaged in an obligatory "self flogging" in penance for my insult. It shall not happen again!

Oh, snap! What was I thinking? I suppose that living here in the Colonies for so long has contributed to these flights of fantasy and delusion I am obviously suffering?

Of course a Subject of the Crown could never suspend their stiff upper lip long enough to experience joy or pleasure. I knew that!

Please pretend like I never asked the question, John. I feel so ashamed and embarrassed for even briefly entertaining such a foolish notion.
