Ruth,

To load photos into a thread you need only to click the icon in the tool bar directly above the message box. It's the one with the little picture frame just to the right of the blue word LINK -- Click on that picture frame icon and a box will open. If the picture you wish to post is one that you have saved on your hard drive click "From my computer" and then locate the file that the picture is saved in. From there you simply need to click on that photograph and, voila! like magic, it will appear in the message box. If it's a pic from a URL then simply click on that choice.

Give it a try! It's a cinch. Even a dummy can do it -- I should know!

Thanks Steven  :)    I get a feeling that I might be getting back to Opinel carving bigtime!

Thanks JJ and Ivars.  I've reshaped a few Opinel blades but never done one like that.  It looks really good and would make a great folding whittling knife I suspect.

Well, my main thing at the moment is making slingshots and slingbows.  This is a recent thing for me and I am getting into making , carving and shooting them very much.

before that I made whips for a few years as my main thing and sold them from Iceland to Australia.  I got to meet some great people and loved working out requirements and style with the client.  I also loved the technical stuff. There was so much to learn about stress factors, new materials etc as the forces involved could be so strong.  I learned that anything that can go wrong WILL go wrong so there was a great emphasis on building in safety.  I made some design innovations (like the 'chain action, interchangeable fall' flogger design which has now been widely adopted.)  But a few months ago The Man decided that we should leave that scene so I stopped making them.

I have carved many things before that.  As a Witch I made a lot of things of spiritual significance.  Above all I love to carve the Green Man.  I also did a lot of carved rune blessings taken from a 1000 year old Icelandic book of runespells.

I can't see how to add photos to this thread but will upload a few of some of my previous stuff.

And thanks again guys...what a lovely friendly group this is !  :)

It would look something like this, Ruth.

That really looks great, Ruth! Your carving makes the handle look much more comfortable to hold, also! Very nice work!
