The scrim is very well compsed and executed. It does what scrimshaw is supposed to do, it compliments the knife. Either by themselves would be well done but together they create a powerful statement. The massive damascus with a gentle sweep and the large ivory handle with a pissed off  tiger scrim is a customer stopper. I am assuming the handle is wart hog or hippo. Both are so hard you get really crisp sharp lines so you can show greater detil as is done in this scrim. Very top shelf work all the way around...HutcH
