hey jan i own the knife below.. same one exactly and its made by CAMCO..
and perry my friend ill get on the pics.. im just lazy with pictures ..im sorry.
looks like a kamp king? I understand there is a fixed blade also?
I grew up with Poll Parrot shoes and who else remembers the Brown Shoe Company, and Buster Brown shoes? Sure you do. There was a picture of Buster Brown and his dog Tige in every pair.
"I'm Buster Brown. I live in a shoe. Here's my dog Tige. He's in there too."
Bet ya remember the TV show on Saturday mornings too. With "Froggy the Gremlin".
Back in those days we could get a pair of high top boots with a knife pocket as part of the boot top.
Geez, I feel like a dinosaur.............. lol
hey robert ill try and get a date for you -gonna be hard though .. i never tried dating it myself..
and DAVE..know the song...LOL!.. this paper item i think would be at least 30 years older then me
im guessing...im gonna try and give a chance dating it.. will have to do a few things.
That reminded me of the Poll Parrot advertising jingle Poll used to sing.
So, anyone else remember it?
Real neat, how old is it?
hey perry i have a few items myself -including knives- i have seen the tin clicker i think your talking about..
this is one of those pieces though i have never seen anywhere.. i have a few paper items like this.. shoe or tobacco related that cross into knives...and i cant find another.. also dont be fooled.. this is actually firm and could easily touch up a knife...or pencil... i need to get a pic of the knives along with this.. ill work on that.
Really cool Peter! I have several Poll Parrot items from my childhood, mainly a tin clicker and the plastic parrot egg I got when I was a kid, in the 1960s. But this sharpener is very cool and I have never seen one before.
