Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I wrapped some artificial sinew around the handle where it meets the guard. Its purely ornamental. After gluing it down, i coated with Gorilla Glue to make sure it stays put. I use Marine Epoxy and Gorilla Glue because it doesn't shrink or yellow, is impervious to extreme temperature and is water proof. And once the epoxy sets, its as hard as the antler. It is n't going to budge.

Great looking knife, my friend. Why the name Appalachian Bowie? I have never used Gorilla glue, I'll have to try some.

Toby,

That blade does have some very nice lines.  What steel did you use on this one?

Thanks guys.  I think 7+ inches and the long clip  makes it a good fighter as well as good field knife.

Good show, mate! I love the shape of that blade. It has some nice lines!

Thanks Steve. I feel pretty confident in the staying power of marine epoxy. If you can repair a boat hull with stuff you can keep a knife handle in place. More important, it feels much more solid than the stag handles that are pinned and glued on my Colt and Rough Rider knives.
