Whoa...

I had zero idea that the company changed the 'official' spelling like that.

That is super good to know!  Being able to get an idea of manufacturing date based on the spelling of the name.

Thank you!

In Brief - Rough Ryder (founded 1994), changed their name spelling to Rough Rider (2000 ??), then changed their name spelling back to Rough Ryder in January 2019. Still all the same company, same great knives and all, but technically "different era's".

I can't seem to recall or find where I found the date and confirm the first spelling change, but the founding and the 2019 name change is well publicized.

I have both RR's with I and second gen Y...both made in China. First gen Y's were made in Ireland.

Hope this little tid-bit helps you sleep tonight.  :-D

argh.  I did not pay any attention to the spelling...  I saw the backward and forward 'R's and made the assumption that it was the same company.

But yes.  I see the spelling difference in the brand now.  So what is the difference?  IS there a difference?

That is certainly a different shaped blade.  I don't recall ever seeing one like it before.  Neat!
