"Lars, that was an awesome reply -- even before you mentioned me!!! Mike, I don't know.  I've only got a couple Case knives, certainly not focused on Case in my collection, but some of those prices -- sounds like GEC!  I'm…"

"I saw several complaints about this very thing from the release of the PBJ canoe last week.  The price jumped like 10 - 15 bucks the day of the drop. FYI:  The PBJ folding hunter is dropping Wednesday, 4/9/25 at 10 am EST.....good luck."

"In a sense, it's probably the ideal time to raise prices.  If the item (knife, lighter, whatever) is in stock, and it's $110 on Monday, then $115 on Thursday, then $125 on Friday, they might still sell the knives on Friday, but now…"

"Oh that's a great question....and way to call them on it too! Based on your observations and write-up, this appears to be "specultive" pricing (think oil, food, lumber, etc.) based on any number of factors - Tariff, product scarcity,…"

SMKW Price Increase

I asked SMKW about the increase in prices on 2 New Folding Hunters that I have been inquiring on at least daily some time more often checking to see if they were available. On BOTH the PB&J SFO and the Sea Dragon 6265sab patterns,  they are Out of Stock.  When I started looking the price they were apx $110.00 each.   The price increased toabout  $115.00 and today they are $124.99. My question was why does SMKW raise the prices when they don't have them to sell in the first place?See More

"Whoa... I had zero idea that the company changed the 'official' spelling like that. That is super good to know!  Being able to get an idea of manufacturing date based on the spelling of the name. Thank you!"

2024 my prespective.

Posted on December 20, 2024 at 14:22 9 Comments

2024 has been for my knife collecting not the best year yet!  But certainly not the slimest in collecting in the last 24 years.  I managed to increase by 20 my collection. I determined this by revisiting my page & looking back at my posted pictures from 2024. Like everyone else I would believe the prices I paid have increased drastically since Covid.I would welcome others opinion on any topic in this post.  Some of the ones I wanted to include in my collection were twice as expensive as…
