Brian,

I am also a whittle fan and I do like this one but I love the dog bone!  Very few of the companies are set up to use those old dies any longer but I sure wish they could.  I would love to see someone take one a year and re create it as a series

Quite possibly Rough Riders best whittler designs. I've argued, in the past, that they need to do a Wharncliffe version.

Thanks, they are very sharp knives & the guys at SMKW seemed to make patterns that haven't been made for a spell. I like whittlers & remember Parker commenting on Knives Live what a great little pattern this was. I'm guessing but may be a Remington pattern? My grandfather had a beat up broken bail metal frame multi blade I gave him a RR MOP mini trapper his eyes lit up like he didn't know what to do with such a beauty. He asked all about it. Have you any of the select series that they used the old bolster dies they had from somewhere. I managed to get 4 pcs I wish I knew the story behind those die's wish they where being used by some manufacture today. I'm a dog lover & that Dog Bone knife with the dog whistle caught my eye.

Nice looking Black Pearl. For the price, RR are good knives. They also have lots of patterns to choose from. I have probably a couple hundred RR knives. They will probably never increase in value, but I bought them because I liked them anyway. I tend to stay away from a lot of Chinese made knives, but will buy one if I really like it. RR is one of those brands that I like. I bought a lot of Chinese knives when the fever hit me, because of price, but try to stay with USA or German made pocket knives now. I do make exceptions once in a while, especially for RR.
