We will just have to add Daniel Kiracofe  to our prayer list.  Thanks for sharing this wonderful information Charles!

I tried to get an email through to them today but couldn't so I posted a question on their Facebook page.  Just about an hour later I got this reply in an email.  (I read the artist signature wrong.  It is DK instead of DR.)

Hi Charles!  You have reached the correct location.  The knife you have is manufactured by a company called Rough Rider and has a bone handle.  WE purchase these knives unengraved, and then our Scrimshanders engrave the designs onto the bone.  The knife you have was  engraved by my husband’s older brother, Daniel Kiracofe (DK), who actually taught my husband, Gary how to scrimshaw many years ago.  Dan owned and operated the Boston Scrimshanders in Fanueil Hall in Boston for many years before retiring and moving to Florida.  However, he has remained very busy keeping our two scrimshaw shops (Door County, WI & Mackinac Island, MI) supplied with his super scrimshaw (always nautical, mostly monotone).  Unfortunately, Dan was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, but is still sending me some pieces.  You can see more  about us on our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/Door.County.Scrimshanders   Oh…and the image on your knife is the lighthouse off of Mackinac Island, Round Island Lighthouse…..Dawn from the Scrimshanders  920-854-5407

Please tell me you are going to call and ask who the artist is?
