Totally awesome Fruit Knife, a lot of collectors don't realize it but Colonial was the leading Fruit knife manufacturer for over 40 years.

There was a time where these knives were used by MANY!

In the late 19th century, produce buyers carried a slender knife to cut a plug from a melon to assess its freshness. These “melon testers” caught on beyond the produce markets and even the knife makers from Case carried them into restaurants to cut their T-bones.Seems they have been relegated to the collectors now.  What a graceful and useful pattern!
