Yes, it's been confirmed.. Monty Bess used saw blade.  High Carbon...

No it doesn't go back all the way..I guess you'd have to call it dagger then.. I'm gonna ck with my ole buddy on what kind of steel Monty used. I'm pretty sure he used saw blades will confirm that.

Ditto Jan's comment ~ Great Blade! Is that false edge on top sharpened all the way back to where that swedge appears to begin? I love coffin handled knives and this one's a real beaut!

I cringe at the thought of thrusting into something and striking a hard object that stops the knife cold with my hand's momentum continuing on passed that virtually non-existent guard and onto the blade. Yikes! That would be ugly.

The more I look at this knife, the more I like it. It's a very cool knife, fersure!
