LOL!

I think you and I are both pulling oars on the same boat!  I cannot/will not pay what a lot of these yahoos are asking for a lot of the knives now a days.

Finding a knife in your price range may take patience, but you should find it eventually.

Lars & Kevin . I guess I am an Idiot. I have over the years assembled as far as I know all of Jim Sargents Books. Even the first 2 Pocket price guide, that were not titled American Premium Guide to Knives and Razors.  While at one time I did use the 4th and 5 th edition to place bids on ebay and won many auctions bidding from them.  I desired this 6th edition for the information on the Case Kodiaks from the1960's.  It has more information than the other editions I have on that particular pattern. I have a few issues as  they are all pictured here.  I am always on the look out for Kodiaks that are REASONABLY Priced or what I consider a reasonable priced that are not in my collection. I checked the 6th edition  out on ebay and found them priiced from $51.00 and purchased this one for less than 1/2 that price.  LOL  The way prices are these days for knives.  I don't believe a person could actually publish a Book with any where close to realized prices!    As I have said COVID must have effected many knife sellers brains. Because since everything opened back up prices asked have sky rocketed. Especially the CASE XX Brand!  I am one of those few that am not willing to pay what most sellers are pricing their irtems.

I need to wait and buy from those who are needing $$$.  Those who are wanting to sell. I just can't deal with those who want a Gold mine for a new issue knife.  Most  of those that price their knives at up to triple the price of a new knife I believe are trolling for a desperate Buyer who believes they must pay almost triple the original purchase price for a knife. .   Thanks for the encouragement about the purchase of this Book. My collection is not advancing quickly simply because I am not willing to pay a lot. !

Oh nice grab! I agree with Kevin - as a resource for identifying, you can't beat it. As for values - that is to say the perceived worth of the item - I see as a marker in time, like original sales catalogs. As we collectors all know - our individual senses of worth (cost of item) differs from knife to knife, collector to collector. At the end of the day, we could argue all we want as to the worth of an item - but what are you willing to pay?

Good job Mike - thanks for sharing it!

Nice!  Looks like it is in real good shape too!

The ID aspect of it never really goes pit of date.  The value part?  That part is so fickle that I never placed much of any stock in that.  Even from region to region the value of items can change dramatically.
