Case Knife 1981 Dedication Set, SR6488 Ful Congress & SR6308 Carpenters Whittler W/NKCA Alligator Case

Vintage 1981 NKCA Dedication & Reward Knives in the original Alligator Skin Case. Beautiful Rose Bone Handles and the NKCA Shields on both. A very interesting set as it's purported that only 1000 sets survived out of the initial 1800 produced. Word has it the SR6488 had an issue with the back springs. Both legendary pocket knives and both with the Case XX Designation. Another interesting fact is that if you date these knives by thier Tang Stamps and "Dots" it's purported they're actually 1982 Knives. I'm a bit confused by this and have yet to find a reasonable answer to this anomaly.

Ralph,

It happens often on SFO's actually.  If the run was made late year and the manufactur had a run coming out right behind it in the new year...they will make and stamp one run
