I don't really know a lot about the Smith & Wesson knives. I believe they were made or contracted to be made by Stewart  A. Taylor company. Possibly by the same company The company had  Jumdo Trappers made in different handles for the different Anniversiary's of S&W.  I believe they were issued in different years. The 2, I now have are the Larger Jumbo Trappers and both are etched with First Production run. They each have Se#.  The Stone one like yours is Dated 1997.  The others are Stag, Jigged Red Bone and a Black that I know being made. The ones I have also came in a Clam Shell Box with S&W stamped on the outside material which appears to be Nagahide, (Plastic) with a white cardboard cover. The knives are very heavy and have a tendency to break the plastic insert inside the box that the knife lies in for storage.
