While there are a bunch of very cool Spyderco knives out there...I have to say that the Manix 2 platform is my favorite. Some time ago, I acquired the black-handled Manix 2 shown in this photo. I was completely blown away by pretty much every facet of the knife. From the unique handle shape...which fits my mongo mits quite well to the very useful blade shape to the fantastic ball-bearing locking mechanism...everything was truly "superb". Recently, I watched a Nutnfancy vid on a Sprint Run version of the Manix 2...one with Blue G10 handle scales and a full-flat ground S30V blade. After watching that vid, I absolutely had to have one of these limited edition knives. In the foreground is my very own Royal Blue Manix 2. I didn't think that there was anything to improve on from my first Manix 2. I was wrong! Aside from the very cool G10 handle scales, this knife just takes the "good" in the first Manix 2 and "ups" things a notch. To me, this version seems a little lighter. Part of that may be the liners, perhaps a little thinner G10 and a slightly thinner blade. Personally, I prefer the thicker blade stock on my black Manix 2...but that is really a matter of splitting the proverbial hair. If you like Spydies...and haven't tried one of the Manix 2 knives, you simply "must" give it a go.

"The photos in the previous post are of an old German pruning type knife I just aquired. It surely is interesting, and quite old."
