Truly a MINI TANK! That's how I describe Spyderco's newly released NATIVE 5. In addition to upgrading the steel from VG10 and CPM S30V to CPM S35VN, Spyderco added G10 handle scales that feature a more "aggressive" texturing. Also, the handle is a little thicker than the Native 4 (VG10 steel with smooth Carbon Fiber handle scales). Frankly, this makes it feel "better" in the hand. They've also added some jimping at the spine of the blade. Other improvements have been made as well. Wanna know more? Watch for my upcoming review in Spyderco Knife Reviews (in the Spyderco Lovers forum).
