This is an absolutely outstanding gift from great friend and business associate.

length overall - 8.43" (214 mm) blade length - 3.625" (92 mm)
blade steel – Elmax length closed - 4.59" (117 mm)
cutting edge - 3.55" (90 mm) weight - 5.9 oz (168 g)
blade thickness - .18" (4.5 mm) handle material - lG-10 / Titanium

The LionSpy features a two-piece handle construction that consists of one black G-10 scale and one titanium scale. The titanium scale is precision machined from solid 6AL-4V titanium and serves as the basis of the knife’s stout Reeve Integral Lock (R.I.L.) mechanism. Both scales are CNC machined with a series of grooves perpendicular to the handle’s length to enhance its texture and ensure a positive grip.
It also includes Gianni Pauletta’s patented RotoLock device. This titanium disk serves as an overtravel stop for the lock bar, preventing it from being pushed too far when the lock is released. When the knife is open, turning the RotoLock approximately 1/8 turn clockwise wedges the lock bar in place, preventing unintentional release of the lock and ensuring superior stability during hard-use cutting chores.

My friend bought this from "The Spyderco Store" (aka Tamco Commerce) for $285. It shipped from Jacksonville and arrived over here(So.Cal) 3 days later. So you would get it next day!

The closest knife I have to compare it to is my ZT0560 and the other than the Lionsteel being slightly smaller and the same weight as the 0560 it carries just as easily. The advantage the Lionsteel has over the ZT is the R.I.L. and the Rotolock, not to mention the 2 halves of the frame are Milled out of solid pieces of Titanium and G10.

Jan, if you can get one get it. Whether it is a Spyderco variant or a SR1, I personally like the thumb ramp the Spydie-hole provides on their offering.
