The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Shown here is the first production run of Spyderco's Gayle Bradley folding knife. All in all, the workmanship on this knife is astoundingly clean and precise. Interestingly, the handle is a bit larger than the blade...and certainly heavier. The blade steel is CPM-M4...a somewhat unusual steel. As nice as this knife really is, it has a couple of rather surprising "knocks":
A) The handle lacks a much-needed finger choil. As is, it would be very easy for the index finger to accidentally slip forward onto the blade.
B) The thick steel liners are not skeletonized...so the knife is unnecessarily heavy.
Other than these deficiencies, the Gayle Bradley folder is an excellent production knife that is exceptionally well made.
