I consider Spyderco's Manix 2 platform to be one of the greatest knife designs of all time (folding or fixed). I like it so much that I own 4 Manix 2 knives.

The all-black model here is identical to it's satin finished sibling:

* 154CM blade steel
* Larger opening hole
* Ball and Cage lock
* Perfectly textured G10 handle scales
* Oversized lanyard hole
* SCARY sharp out of the box

You don't know much about sharpness if you think Spyderco's knives are sharp. ;)

On a serious note though. That lock type is the one they use for the P'kal, what's interesting about that one instead ofthis one though is that the lockup is on the edge itself, not on the spine.
That might very well be the most ideal type of design for me if I consider a regular folder but I have gotten a bit too used to using the P'kal and the muscle groups it opens up with the reverse carry.

Sure the accuracy of the cut is a bit so-so in the start, might take you longer to get the crap out of your finger nails than it used to but it's all a matter of practice.

I just got the Manix2 with PINK g10! I love this knife. Thought the pink scales would take some of the "threatening" look away from the knife for those.........well.....narrow minded observers. The all black Manix2 is near the top of my wishlist. Opening and closing action of the ball bearing detent is awesome. congrats Chris, i totally get why one would have FOUR of them. har
