Wester Bros. Cutlery Co. c. 1904-1967

Located at 148 Chambers St. NYC. Charles & Max Wester were owners.

Originally founded 1891 as Jacoby & Wester. Bought Jacoby out and changed name to Wester Bros. in 1904

 

Sole importer of Wester & Butz of Solingen, Germany.

 

When WWI began, imports from Germany stopped. Then contracted with U.S. factories.

In 1915 were called Wester-Stone Inc. Named used for short perod and then back to Wester Bros.

 

After the war they imported from Germany again. Herbert Wester became owner and mgr. By 1949 they were located at 71 Murray St, NYC.
