That's what I like about these, Bob.

The internet is loaded with peasent mods.  Wanted to check out the poly handled one before I drop down twice the price, for a wooden one.   Better reviews on the poly.  I believe that they're easier to mod, though one with a sanded and oiled wooden handle is in my future.

I bought the large Peasent several years ago, I think it has the red handles, and liked it so well I bought the mini early 2014 with black handles. I like both of them and agree that they whet up real good and are fine blades, simple design. I like the mini to carry also. I have seen several on the web that have been converted to straight knives, but don't intend to do that unless in the future that I would purchase one just for that purpose.

For the price, Steve, i think everyone needs one of these. Sharpens up to a nice edge and for folks that like modding, its super simple.

Been checking out makers.  Not too many here, but they're real popular in Europe.

I got the poly b/c they're less than half of the wooden ones.  The mini is more pocket friendly and really more fun to play with.  Might as well order an original sized present also,  they do amazing work in the kitchen. (Just sayin.)

Tell Donnie, if he gets one, that the stop pin is a wee bit small, and I found out that a 5/32 inch pin works better.
