Hi Jan, I believe that would be a cast iron hanging scale balancing weight. Great blade, tang stamp, and jigging go together to help make the Krack-A-Jack a super Cotton Sampler!

Given the context .. it's a wgt off an antique set of cotton scales.
They're actually known as a STEELYARD SCALE .. but were implemented for many different uses. One can find them commonly sold in antique stores as "gin scales" or "Cotton scales".
