Though I got my start in knife collecting with slip joint folders, I went many years being somewhat disinterested in them. Instead, I was captivated by modern folders and their mechanisms. In fact, I really do love modern folders and their high-tech facets. However, within the past year, I've rediscovered my interest in slip joint knives. The knife shown in this photo is a good example of why:

* Queen Cutlery
* Small Trapper design
* Curly Zebrawood handle scales
* D2 blade steel, beautifully executed
* Super half-stop

When done "right", slip joints have a kind of timeless appeal to them that never really goes out of style.
