The unit it's replacing is the left one. Columbia, orig price $14.78 = abusable unit, stamped, thickness = 0.103". It's lack of wgt limited it's effectiveness. Also, I bent the blade while harvesting some osage orange. Granted .. Osage Orange is some hard wood ..but.. lost all confidence when I bent the sharpened edge hacking through a 3~4 " dia osage orange branch.

The Columbia is being relegated to a yard implement. The real test for the Vaughan will be the next time I'm out with the dogs & go to chop some more Osage Orange. Good looking scale material ..but.. some tough schtuff !!!

Yes .. the orange wood section is quite hard.

The outer white section is not so bad .. & the pithy center can be dented with your nail ..but.. that pretty orange portion is tough !!!

It was there & working @ an odd angle that bent the Columbia unit.
