The metal was masked with fingernail polish in preparation for etching .. upper pic.
The bottom is after the etching process with the masking removed.
I etched my initials on the spine of the blade.

I initially masked a broad area of the spine with a swath of nail polish .. only to remove most of it after baking .. leaving just the DAD .
