There are a few different flavours of this knife, and the three I've played with all feel pretty durned good in your hand. I'd like to find another so I can take it out and put it through its paces. I don't think you'll be sorry grabbing this piece for use or collecting, Ron. Good luck on your search!
Thanks for the response, Steve! I was in downtown Los Angeles today and I dropped into Ross Cutlery. It's one of the largest brick and mortar stores in Southern California. Anyway, I was hoping to get my hands on a Recon to see how one actually felt in hand. But sadly there were none in stock. I'd really like to handle one before I pull the trigger. So, the search goes on.
One can never be too prepared for the zombies! I don't think you'll regret the purchase, Ron. Great feel to it, nice lines, and while some are on the fence with the San Mai or sandwich steel, it's still a VG10 cutting edge at the core. Really cool to see the line along the edge where the two steels meet.
You posted a pic of this CS Recon Tanto a while back and I did some research on it. The jury is in! Roughly 9 out of 10 owners are in love with this knife. I recall reading nothing but glowing reviews. I believe that this knife will be my very next fixed blade purchase. With the Zombie Apocalypse nigh on the horizon this photograph may well prove to be the catalyst that hastens such a purchase?
