The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Circa 1980's Khyber Birdseye Folding Hunter with Brown Micarta Scales ~ The Birdseye Pivot Pin is Nickel Silver and the Liners are Stainless Steel ~ It has a Lockback locking mechanism ~ Closed Length is 4 inches and the Cutting Edge on the Mirror Polished Drop Point Blade is 2.5 inches ~ It Weighs 4.5 ounces and is 7 inches overall.
The Fit and Finish is amazing! This knife was made in Japan in the early 80's for KA-BAR Knives. I have heard that "Khyber" was a variant of "KA-BAR" but cannot verify it.
This is one of the nicest Folding Knives I have ever held in my hands. It is rock solid and quite hefty.

True dat, Kees! And some of the knives that are coming from Taiwan are superior, also!
This old Kyber is built like a tank. Plus, I just have a thing for micarta.
Cheers, my friend!
sometimes these japanese knives feel sooooo good and solid ! this looks like its a very nice one
in the eightees they really tried to become top of the world ( also with guitars ! ) the term "made in japan " got a new meaning here in europe
i think at the moment the serious japanese production knives are with the best around !!
