Comment by Max McGruder on March 1, 2014 at 10:55: Charles, I thought I'd read on the Case Forum that the different hardnesses can cause some discoloration like that ...but I just searched every key word I could think of over there and found nothing of the sort talked about. I looked at the Two Soddies I could easily get two and both looked better than that....

So my conclusion is, it's not Normal. I would at least call or send it back and find out.

Also, Sorry to speak out of turn when I can't back it up... so I guess I remember things wrong. Next time I'll check my facts FIRST!

Comment by Max McGruder on March 1, 2014 at 9:28: I believe the tang itself isn't hardened like the blade that's why there is a difference in color and doesn't polish like the blade.
