Ken & Joyce!

We can all laugh about that unfortunate experience now, thank goodness! I sure wasn't laughing at the time! And, yes! Strawberry preserves are still my favorite! After all, it was those refrigerated strawberries that helped to extinguish the fire in my throat.

Looking back, it's a wonder that any of us ever survived our childhood back then.

Tell Buddy I said hello, will ya!

Ron, Joyce and I think that is a sad but very funny story. Do you like Strawberry preserves today? We'll be sure never to eat those elephant ears.

Wow, what a story, remind me never to eat an elephant ear stalk.

Thanks for the comment Ron.

Ken, you and Joyce have a veritable botanical garden for a yard. Those Elephant Ears are beautiful!

When I was about 12 years old an older neighbor kid broke off a stalk from one that was in his parents yard and dared me to take a bite and swallow it. Like a fool I did. OMG! I'll never forget the horrible burning that that caused deep down in my throat. I thought that I was going to die! I ran home and busted into my parent's refrigerator. I then grabbed a jar of strawberry preserves and starting gulping it down with a spoon trying to put the fire out in my throat. After several excruciatingly painful minutes it finally calmed down.

I think I have Elephant Ear PTSD! lol
