The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
This is an actual bear's tooth pendant/necklace that was especially made for a man that was a friend of mine. It is over 50 years old. It is mounted in sterling silver and the powder horn bears my friend's initials, "EL" ~ They stand for Earl Lalone.
Earl passed 3 years ago at the age of 86. This was recently gifted to me by his widow. She also gave me two additional teeth that were from the same bear. Please note the Bowie knife in the setting. Earl's widow, Margaret, knows that I collect knives and felt that Earl would want me to have it. This is now one of my most cherished possessions. It is truly one of a kind!

Robert, I don't believe that Earl took the bear down? I'll have to double check with his wife.
I'm debating whether to clean the silver. It has such a beautiful patina, I may just leave it.
The chain that I currently have on it is only stainless steel. I do intend to find a suitable silver one.
And, John, these days, I confine my wrestling adventures to the fluffing of a pillow at bedtime. Cheers, mate!
That's a great keepsake Ron, at first I thought you had been bear wrestling again. There sure was some work went into that mount !
Real neat. That's an interesting story, did Earl hunt and kill the bear?
