Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Well people...I was hoping to ring in the new year with a brand new custom knife that a friend of mine is making...but as is the case with all great works, this one is not quite done. Anticipation can be very enjoyable though, so...

While I was waiting, I decided to pick up my first fixed-blade Zero Tolerance knife. Shown in this photo is my brand-slicing-new ZT 0100. As some of you may know, my favorite ZT knife is the 0200 folder. If you are familiar with that design, you'll see it's handle shape in that of the 0100 (which presumably was designed prior to the 0200, but I can't say for certain). The handle scales, like those of the 0200, are 3D-machined G10 and I dig 'em big time. For that reason, the 0100 and I get along nicely...though I will be letting the folks at ZT know that they need to lengthen both the handle and the blade a little. Speaking of the blade, the steel is a new one on me; CPM3V tool steel. It's got that great tungsten DLC coating on it (awesome stuff). As for how it will perform...when I say that this knife is "new", I mean that I got it out of the box about two hours ago. Yep..."new" as in "still smells new". If that sentence seems "weird" to you, you must be new to knives...or possibly your olfactory senses are wired "wrong". LOL. Which...oddly...brings me to the sheath. Not bad AT ALL; high and tight marines, high and tight. Though it comes with the leg strap, it really appears best suited to LBE. With that statement, the knife will be going on my assault vest and we'll see how this dark and dangerous piece of steel does. ZT sure brags it up...and it certainly looks like it'll take whatever I can dish out. In any event...for all you "tactical" blade lovers, eat your heart out. I'm rockin' the ZT0100 baby!
