Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Knife users find all kinds of ways to carry their knives. Belt sheaths, loose in the pocket, knives with clips to hold the knife in or outside of the pocket, shoulder rigs, well the list goes on and on. Our forefathers, of yesteryear, wore neck knives. The knife sheath was held in place by a lanyard or some sort of necklace. I recently saw a survival expert on TV wareing one for his Bushcraft knife. The knife was a fixed blade, about 8" overall lenth. I have carried a knife in alot of different ways but I have never used the "Neck Knife" style. I thought, I'd ask our members here, "how many carry a knife this way and what's the Pro and Cons, of this style of carry"? Thanks.

I have a few Robert, I usually wear a neck knife when we go to a show but for using?

I would have to say it would be great out camping or in the woods, as for it getting in the way hanging....when I lean down I just tuck it in but I usually have on a button down shirt and that makes it easy.  I can see the challenge if you had on a tshirt

I have never tried one due to the fact that I used to have to wear my I.D. badge on a lanyard around my neck. Every time I bent over or forward it was getting in the way or hung up on something. At times it was even a safety hazzard. For everyday use I can't see a neck knife that was exposed. If you wore it under something, you'd be just as well off having it on a pocket clip inside an easily accessible pocket. Stylish? Yes. Easy to get to? Yes. Practical? I have my doubts.
