The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Some people go out and party on their birthday. I took it as an excuse to take a couple days vacation from work and continue to build the "Wall-O-Knives in my Cutlery Cavern. I now have an area that will hold 96 scout/camp knives instead of the old 75 knife area. The old area is going to pay homage to Red Ryder. This in turn is opening up an area to display more fixed blades!
The area is currently 12 feet 8 inches (3.86 meters). There are 188 hooks for hanging knives.
An area made for Scouts and 84-93 mm SAK and Swiss Army Like knives. A total of 96 hooks (72 currently in use)
In the center of the section are some mushroom knives. In away they caused this wall of knives. I needed a place to display this unusual pattern. Above the mushroom knives are 108 and 111 mm Swiss Army Knives. Below the Mushrooms are some of my Favorite Camps and Swiss Army knives and small pen knives.
I also collect decks of playing cards, shot glasses, whistles and church keys. But an overflow of 58mm SAKs and lobsters are also located in the section with whistles and shot glasses. I needed something to break up the scenery
Next up are riggers, hawkbills and hobos and fish knives. The hobos will soon join the camps and scouts.
It is still a work in progress (and will most likely always be a work in progress)
The wall of Military Knives and gear is coming along as well. The Swiss Army Knives have left this area for the new wall of knives. This allowed me to move Military issued pocket knives to this wall. THe five pocket knives hanging under the hip carbine pouch (that triple pouch thingy) 4 WWII issued knives and a Camillus modern era utility knife. The Camillus is probably the most used knife in the cavern. I still need to move the sword and make room for a few more items on the wall. As I said a work in progress but a great fun on my birthday.

Thanks Gus.
I'm currently working on my Dart Board Corner. I know most men go for a large entertainment area to watch the big game or a pool table but both of those take up a lot of real-estate. Besides, I like darts. They're nice and pointy.
Pictured below is my DMI Bandit dart board and my Harrows Voodoo 23 gram darts. Obviously I'm not a pub pro but I wanted something better than the Walmart special. I've been real happy with the board and even low priced Harrows Darts are excellent and highly recommended.
I've placed a foam core backing behind the board for the errant dart. I'm in the process of making a simple wood scoreboard using a "hole in peg" method. I'm also making a rack for dart storage. I hope to have that part done by Thanksgiving.
Happy Birthday Tobias, I love your wall of knives in your "Cutlery Cavern", a great idea.
Nice Knife Displays.....thanks for sharing
Wow.....
Thanks for the comments and compliments, everyone. It remains a work in progress, Here are some updated photos of the drawers (Excuse the mess I'm in the middle of moving some stuff around.)
Chest one (I think the door on the side is really interesting.)
Two left drawers (Mostly American)
Two right drawers (Rough Riders and SAKs with no key rings)
The top large drawer (Whites Smooth Boone, mostly Rough Rider)
The other chest (The bottom drawers are filled with knife boxes!)
Semi-organized over-flow drawer, including some junk.
Most of my toothpicks are in this interesting vanity type box
And this knife is going to be taking up realestate when it becomes part of the "Red Ryder" display area! I guess there is a "little boy" in all of us!
Tobias,
You never cease to amaze me. First of all a great way to spend your birthday! I have seen many displays but dont think I have seen one this well thought out!
Tobias, that is on impressive knife chest, they sure don't make them like that any longer! But it's nice you repurpose it with all them Beauties! Heck you could even make layers in them drawers once it starts getting full!
My wife starts complaining about my piddly collection I am bringing her to this page!! Awsome job looks great!
I too like the military display, but I am jealous of all the camp knives you have. Must be hard to decide which one to take camping... LOL ! Happy Birthday too.
Tobias, that is really awesome, I especially like your Military display with gear and Knives. A great way to spend your Birthday - and Happy Birthday also.
