Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Some people go out and party on their birthday.  I took it as an excuse to take a couple days vacation from work and continue to build the "Wall-O-Knives in my Cutlery Cavern.   I now have an area that will hold 96 scout/camp knives instead of the old 75 knife area.  The old area is going to pay homage to Red Ryder.  This in turn is opening up an area to display more fixed blades!

The area is currently 12 feet 8 inches  (3.86 meters).  There are 188 hooks for hanging knives.

An area made for Scouts and 84-93 mm SAK and Swiss Army Like knives. A total of 96 hooks (72  currently in use)

In the center of the section are some mushroom knives. In away they caused this wall of knives.  I needed a place to display this unusual pattern.  Above the mushroom knives are 108 and 111 mm Swiss Army Knives.   Below the Mushrooms are some of my Favorite Camps and Swiss Army knives and small pen knives.

I also collect decks of playing cards, shot glasses, whistles and church keys.   But an overflow of 58mm SAKs and lobsters are also located in the section with whistles and shot glasses.    I needed something to break up the scenery

Next up are riggers, hawkbills and hobos and fish knives.  The hobos will soon join the camps and scouts.

It is still a work in progress (and will most likely always be a work in progress)

The wall of Military Knives and gear is coming along as well.  The Swiss Army Knives have left this area for the new wall of knives.  This allowed me to move Military issued  pocket knives to this wall.   THe five pocket knives hanging under the hip carbine pouch (that triple pouch thingy) 4 WWII issued knives and a Camillus modern era utility knife. The Camillus is probably the most used knife in the cavern. I still need to move the sword and make room for a few more items on the wall.  As I said a work in progress but a great fun on my birthday.

Good question Max.  Currently  I have some chest of drawers that hold knives but  I'm also working on a shallow shelf unit for knives without bails.  The chests of drawers take up more room than I like.  Below are some older pictures of one of the chests  I need to update as items have been moved and  rotated.

The four small drawers across the top and top large drawer are used for dispaly.  The bottom two drawers are storage and the small door just visible on the right is where I store knife making and knife care equipment.

A drawer of Case knives. This has changed..

a small table top display case filled with toothpicks. (Old pictures, it has more toothpicks now!)

Plenty more but I'll think I'll justy take some new photos and post instead!

I love it. The name is cool too, the "Cutlery Cavern". A great way to keep an eye on your collection.
