Knife purses .. who has a favorite ?

.. or better put ..

??? who simply has one ???

I picked this one up when I ordered my Sweetie's Laguiole.

Liked it so much .. she got one for me.

Beyond the obvious protection

they simply

!!! .. look nice .. !!!

SOOO00ooo .. who out there has one .. or more ??

Where do you find / obtain them ??

What do you do to maintain them ??

Who's got the oldest one ??

Who's used the finger of a glove for one ??

Who's ...... what ....... when ..... where's ..... them ??

The few knife sheaths (Purses) that I have...came with the antique knives I have bought.

They are soft leather and all really look like they have been made from soft gloves and had a snap added

to them. They are in varied colors of beige, brown, gray, black.

The purse's seem to add an air of treasure to them. Protection of the treasured knife !

* I think the pic's are great!

All my Smaller PAUL knives have these leather slips and my Al Mar Hawk with the Mother of Pearl scales and scrolled bolsters has one also.

Re: maintenance.

Both of ours have benefited from Renaissance Wax. They were treated @ the same time .. used more than advised .. and rubbed it in quite thoroughly.

Honest pocket wear is being implemented for the final treatment .. of mine. This is a lengthy stage ..years.. literally. Supplemented with the occasional abundance of .... more Renaissance Wax.

The other is undergoing a similar final stage of treatment .. albeit .. somewhat lighter. i.e. The knife is in the purse, the purse is in one of those "shoe shine" gloves found in hotel rm complimentary baskets, all are nested safely in an interior pocket of purse .. 'n zipped away. Supplemented with the occasional abundance of .... more Renaissance Wax.

Too cheap to buy one.  Have to make them myself.
