Knives that just make your jaw drop to the floor.

Every so often I see a knife that just plain floors me. So I thought I'd share two of those with you all.

These knives were made by a scandinavian maker. Now you should know that in scandinavia it's quite normal for someone to make a blade and someone else to turn that blade into a knife by making the handle a sheath for it. These are like that. The blades were made by Mattias Styrefors and everything else by Tommy Alatalo (check out his website www.arcticknives.com for more of them).

Without further ado I'd like to introduce "Frostbite" and "Ritual"

Frostbite

Blade: Mattias Styrefors damascus steel blade with random pattern heat colored blue and gold. Length approx. 11,5cm.

Handle: Mammoth tusk bolster and rear ornament, stabilized mammoth tooth center, blue stabilized birch and engraved mammoth tusk spacers.

Sheath: Hand patterned rawhide leather colored black with damascus steel star pattern beltloop button.

Total knife length approx. 27cm.

Ritual

Blade:
Mattias Styrefors damascus steel blade with scorpion pattern. Length approx. 12,5cm.

Handle: Mammoth tusk bolster and rear ornament, stabilized green spalted birch burl, engraved fossil sperm whale tooth spacers and disc inlay.

Sheath: Hand patterned rawhide leather with green coloring and damascus steel scorpion beltloop button.

Total knife length approx. 27cm.

Aren't they gorgeous?

So. What did you see that just blew you away?
