The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
I got this knife from A. G. russel and I have to tell you it is a really nice knife. The fit and finish is amazing since it is an intregal made from one peoce of 440C steel. The polish on the steel is great and here is what AG wrote on the knife
Dietmar Kressler, one of Germany's most famous knifemakers, partnered with Boker to introduce the Kressler Subhilt Integral Fighter into their Boker Plus Series. The handguard, as well as the subhilt and butt are all an integral part of the knife, which is drop forged into the final shape. Drop forging is used to shape the steel by dropping heated metal into a punch and die, the impact causes the heated material to conform to the shape of the punch and die. This creates one solid piece of steel, without any separate parts like bolsters or guards. This complex and elaborate production procedure results in an extremely solid piece with a unique and noble appearance. The subhilt provides an uncomparable safe and secure handling in any situation.
The blade is 440C stainless steel which is well proven with its outstanding edge retention and corrosion resistance with a hardness of 57-58 Rc. Black canvas Micarta handle, fastened with stainless steel tubes, provides an excellent grip and an attractive contrast to the mirror polished surface of the steel. The modified clip point blade measures 7-3/8” with an overall length of 12-3/4”. Weighs 1 lb.
Just check and AG is already sold out on this new knife. A step above normal production and for 180 bucks you can't beat it.
