The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Hello to all!
I am a serious collector of both damascus knives and damascus billets. I am currently buying billets from such makers as Robert Eggerling (quilt damascus and slanted quilt damascus), Chad Nichols, Devin Thomas, Robert Calcinore, and others.
I am looking for unsual damascus billets made by anyone. I have been told that some Swedish blacksmiths are creating some very innovative and unusual damascus patterns - one in fact apparently has made 5 billets with a dragon smelted into the damascus. I have already attempted to contact some Swedish damascus makers directly from their own websites via email on damascus billets they may have available for sale.
Anyone who can provide more information about such damascus billets (and knives made with them) to me by email would be a great help.
I have heard about a damascus that has reindeer and snowflakes smelted into the damascus steel itself, and am trying to find out who produces such steel, where and how I can contact them, to find out if they currently have such billets for sale.
I am a brand-new member of this "community" - as of today! - and thrilled to be a member!
Regards,
Jeremy Steinberg

Firstly, have you seen any of Rob Charlton's work and Damascus USA? Great steel and prices.
There are so many Scandinavian (Norse) makers of Damascus that it's mid boggling.
One that has impressed me is:
I have about 245 Norse makers in my database but I'll give you some links to the various knife makers guilds or societies and you can check out their member's list and I've added a few favourite makers of mine from each country.

Check their links sections for additional makers that they are friendly with.
Jeremy, we have many fine damascus knife makers on IKC, you may want to check them out.
Jeremy Welcome. Have you seen this?
