Has anyone ever wondered which knife brand, that has gone out of business in recent knife history, has risen in value and collectability the most. Knife companies like Camillus, Schrade and others. Have ya'll seen a rise in price and interest in these and if so, then which ones. I know that the vintage Winchesters have really gone up in price. I am curious to hear what ya'lls opinion is on this subject. Thanks.

I see Camillus is on the rise also. It seems the ones I like the most, cost more and more each day.

It seems to me that almost all the brands are going up. It's getting harder and harder to find a decent knife to buy, outside buying a NEW one. For the guy like myself, I spend hours sometimes going through ebay looking for a good brand, good condition that would still hold some value, and a good fair price.

We need more Knife sights that sell. or offer nice clean used blades, maybe they could offer trade ins for their new knifes and give the "Pontiac Owner" a chance to start a Collection.

Personally I've been watching Western Cutlery (made in Boulder, CO) - both folding and fixed. The prices seem to have risen quickly and I might add quite high on eBay. This is after a 6-7 month hiatus from watching them. Less of the pieces are auctioned and more are fixed price or "make an offer". I don't keep track of how well they're selling.

Certain Camillus series (made in NY) like the Wildlife and Cartridge series (all derlin handles) are quite active on eBay. Unusual animals or cartridges, with box and papers, goes through brisk bidding.

German Hen & Rooster, from the original factory purchased by A.G. Russell, commands top dollar - the $100+ range easily.

Contract made knives like Browning, made in the US or Germany from the 60s to the 80s, have just gone ballistic in my opinion. Again, very little "mouth-watering" pieces offered in the way of auctions; most are a set price. Kinda high!

I don't know much about older knives except the older Buck knives.

I know I'm surprised to see the prices the delrin handled Schrades are going for nowadays!
