Thanks for the ad. It is great to finally find a place where I can talk about knives and collecting without having someone looking at me sideways like I am speaking Martian. I look forward to the advice since I am a true novice with only one knife made in my time (not a percision piece but an edged metal stick). Let me know if you ever get near Myrtle Beach for a gratis free ride to get a beverage.
Jan; I started fooling with Model T's in 1953 and have never been without one since.I didn;t start knives until 20 years later. My interest in knives is about anything old with quality with a leaning toward Ulster Knife Co.
Thanks for the welcome Jan, i want to thank you for helping me figure out how to become a member the other day, i found this site by accident after i bought a couple of Terry Davis knives last weekend.
Jan, thaks for the comment on my damascus hunter. The pins are brass but the way they picked up the light in my photo it is hard to tell. They are hand peened and I do the final finishing on the handles after peening. This wau I can get them very smooth and then polish with 2000 grit paper. I also use stainless & nickel silver rod material for pins. I decide on the pin type after I get all the handle shaping & blade tweaking done just prior to assembly. Thanks again.
