"Question Duane, have you reached out to the gentleman on Pinterest and asked if it is one of his?  The chances are good that if it is not his, he may know who the other maker is"

Help Identifying a knifemaker

Hey, Folks.I recently purchased a fixed blade knife on eBay.  It appears to be well made and fairly stout, with brown linen micarta scales and a very stylish sheath.  The only marking on it says Varisco 91 etched into the obverse side of the blade. In my research I have found an obituary for an Angelo Varisco who passed away on March 31, 2007.  The obituary contains a comment that "Mr. Varisco won many awards for his handmade knives and was also a talented leathercraft artist."  There is also a…See More

About Me
I still have the first knife I ever owned--a broke tip Camco Barlow that I was given when I was about seven. Spent a lot of hours playing mumbley-peg with that one. I have slowly collected--without realizing I was building a collection--jackknives most of my life.

About four years ago, I became more serious about it. It's a disease.
I've decided to learn how to do gunstock checkering to make the kind of folder scales I like the best. I expect that, during the next couple of years, I will be learning this skill like a monkey with a mirror--and teaching myself some interesting new words.
Other Hobbies
Reading, listening to music, fishing and making fun of Labrador Retrievers.
