Christmas in the UK

The battle continues and we have increasingly moved towards buying historic material and then trying to turn it into knives. We are getting ready for Christmas in the UK and it’s just about to snow or so they say. They are finally letting people into football stadiums but only say 3000 people in a 80000 seater stadium and am just watching a somewhat inebriated gentleman seemingly unable to find his seat when he has 77000 empty ones to chose from - that’s COVID for you. This year we have…See More

Greetings from London. Given our travels are curtailed a bit we are working on some of the historic material we have. We have part of the keel of the Trincomalee from about 1820 which we are turning into the 3 blade Admirals knife. We have finally finished turning part of the Rolls Royce drive shaft of a Tornado jet into a pen holder. Our bit of R101 airship has been turned into keyrings but we still have a lot of it left which upsets my wife a bit. Still cluttering the place up is a large…See More

Greetings from the UK after a long lapse.

To commemorate fifty years since the moon landings we have produced a knife which incorporates a piece of one of the first V1's to come down in England. We only have a little of the metal and that's it and we have only made ten pocket knives. The links are at the bottom of our home page on Sheffield-gb.com See More

Cutlery of all kinds including knives were made in Sheffield, England for centuries. Large factories employing thousands of people turned out all manner of tools, knives and generally cutlery. The products were exported all over the world. Sheffield salesmen were at work in every continent. It’s products were synonymous with quality and those of it’s craftsmen who failed to live up to the exacting standards required might expect to see there products smashed on the guildhall…
