A 'HIT', knife. 2" closed, 3-1/8" open.  Just got it today.  Was at my Mothers, (92), she slipped this in my pocket, said it was my Dads. (He passed 21 years ago). Would like to know more about it.    (You know what, 'hit knife' returned on the internet  LOLOLOL).  Don't think I will ever use it, (won't sell it), but would like to give it to a Nephew, with information on what it is.  Oh, and the little white hairs on the red. Not mine, they are from my dog LOLOL

Hit  -  Made by Colonial

That's all there is.

Tom,

Made by Colonial may be good.  If we cannot find any other info, try sending a message to http://www.iknifecollector.com/profile/stevecolonialknife.  He is Colnial and may have some info from the past for you

Interesting ..a Colonial now I had no idea on that one!

I found one fairly trustworthy reference on the web that stated  " HIT" knives were made by Colonial in the 1950's. Hope that narrows down your timeline a bit.
