Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

I originally posted this in the "Knife making Beginners" group, but thought it should be here also.

As I have a keen interest in fixed blade knives and have contacts with raw material dealers. My friend DR Loniak & I have decided to collaborate on a few designs in the tactical arena. I can source the material and he has the CNC machinery to cut every piece exact to tolerance.

The first 2 designs are an amalgamation of some designs I like. Tell me if you can see what they are:

The first has a 5" blade, I call it the "Jarovit":

The 2nd is a smaller version of the "Jarovit" with a 4" blade called the "Zroya".

These knives will be CNC'd from D2 tool steel, Hollow ground & Heat treated hopefully by Jeff Mutz. Initial production will be for about 15 knives each, of which I would like to offer up 1 of each in separate "pass-a-rounds" here. Feed-back is crucial and I can take criticism, I am no wilting violet.

I like Anza knives. The idea of recycling files into functional, workman knives appeals to me. I bought 10 or 15 Anza knives 6-8 years ago at a good price. There seems to have be a rabid, and rapid price increase on all knives, both E-bay and retail knife stores. Have knives become chic? Give me a simple, functional knife anytime.

I agree. I try to design a knife with everything you need and nothing you don't. You'll never see a sawback nor unnecessary embellishments in any of my designs.

Update:

4/7/2012

I am pulling out of trying to get these patterns CNC'd. My associate is bombarded with other projects he has to pay his bills.

So I am thinking about bandsaw cutting these out of the CPM-154 I received from Brent. Hope to get the rough cut done on Saturday.

Now I am so backlogged with work, I am working Saturdays to keep ahead of my manufacturing requirements.

Needless to say I haven't start cutting these blades out myself.

awww, Well work is good and when your caught up take a day of rest.  then cut!

Actually its good to hear..work is actually good and needed!  I am sure you will eventually find time to cut the blanks.

Hey Brad...after reading through this thread, it appears that you're most expensive commodity is Time, followed by a close second of everything else. Thought I would refresh this thread with the question....is the dream still alive?

I'm not sure if this conversation continued on in another group or not - if so, please direct. This one reads like a really great adventure story, but with the final pages missing.

I'm really liking the Zroya with it's 4" blade and jimping. I wouldn't mind putting it through a few paces for you, that's for sure!
