Anyone else getting any of the Spyderco sprint runs with Aogami super blue/420J1 balde steel? So far I've gotten the Stretch, Dragonfly2 and Manbug. I have another D'fly arriving Monday (I hope). I have two Manbugs on pre-order but I don't know if I'm going to get them or not. I have 5 days to decide before the reseller cancels the order. I really liked the super blue steel on the Stretch so I decided to get more. I made a kirinite (blue mother of pearl pattern) handle for the D'fly and put the SB Manbug blade in my Manbug G-10 handle with red bone scales I made. This makes for a great EDC set. Ilike to carry knives of different size for different tasks. Some people ask why. I say "I bought the damn things! Might as well carry them". lol Here is a picture of my current EDC. I still carry my Queen small lockback most of the time too. I just like that little knife. I doesn't have great F&F but it can be opened with one hand and I like the D2 steel.

I really like this super blue steel.  It gets very sharp and holds an edge very well. Also it will form a patina if you use it for cutting food.  Even Tuf-Glide doesn't seem to protect it.

I like the Super Blue Sprint runs. For me it started with the Caly 3.5 and then went to the Endura and Delica...and recently to the Stretch and Ladybug. Need to nab the Manbug and the Dragonfly (which is surprisingly expensive).

I was only planning on buying the D'fly. I had it on pre-order for about 3 months and finally broke and got the Stretch. I haven't used the SB steel enough to get a solid opinion of it but up to now I really like it. I finally got the D'fly and then a Manbug for me and my son. I have another D'fly due in on Monday. My G-10 Manbug handle is my favorite. I had a ZDP blade on it and now have put the SB blade in it. I can sharpen ZDP but to get the real crisp razor edges it takes a bit more concentration and time. I am going to cut up some cardboard tonight or tomorrow with my Manbugs. One with ZDP and the other with SB. I'm curious about the edge retention of each. So far the SB reminds me a little of M4. Not hard to sharpen and holds a great edge. I love FRN and Spyderco's pattern on it makes for about the best grip I've seen. But, I like to have knives with a handle I made just for the personal touch. I'm considering some burl wood for the Stretch. Maybe I'll put burl (or something else) on all three for a matching set. :)
