The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Sweet little knife, it sort of looks like a Semi-Skinner.
I like their take on the Fisk knife...it's a little high priced for me though.
I have one of their Filet knives and it's the best stainless steel filet knife I have ever used. I have a Carbon steel Filet knife that is just great but they are rare. I have heard that most carbon steel filet knives wrap during the forging process. The one I have is the only one I have ever seen for sale.
Robert, the thinnes of filet knives makes them VERY prone to warp during the heat treat. (During the forging process this can still be fixed).
However there are methods for keeping it straight like normalising after forging and before heat treatment. Or putting it in clamps during heat treatment.
I see, that's interesting. Well for some reason you don't see many carbon steel filet knives. The one I have is bad to the bone. Until I tried that White River Stainless Steel Filet knife, there was no stainless steel filet knife that could hang with it.
