You are in the right place now Bruce! I might have missed that other post but we'll take a look at this now by golly!

This is from Bruce's original discussion in the Ka-Bar Group:

Small K-Bar I found at junk shop for $7.00 had a loose pommel and missing 3 washers, replaced washers and reset handle

The original sheath has a ladies name on it "Marina Kelly " I know nothing about her or the knife. It is a small very well made knife .Perfect for a lady

Hence forth I believe we should call this Q&A "The Marina Kelly Ka-Bar"

Thanks Steve

I like the title

Who ever she was "Marina liked a good knife.

you have a u.s.m.c ww11 fighting knife mark 1.thay were.on the sheath it say's marine killer so i wood say some marine that used it  wrote that on the seath.I was a marine so I'm used to seeing this type of kinfe the price of the knife would be around$70.00 to $90.00 by looking at yours I'de say the $90.00 would be the right price do to the shape of the seath

thank you Elbin! Thank you for your service and Semper Fi!

Thanks Elbin

This knife is basic same design as the WW2 knives it is much smaller, blade at 3.25"and handle at 3.25"

I saw a WW2 trench knife by Camillus that was very close but pommel cap not flat on one side

You got me with Marine killer Being old and blind I got a bigger magnifying glass and what is really says is

Mirinda Kelly . With more blurred writing underneath

Bruce

Bruce, sorry but like Steve, I missed your original post--That KA-BAR over OLEAN, N.Y. tang stamp was used from 1923-1950- Not military, was part of their hunting line-- That 6 1/2 inch OA length fits in with what they called their " Little Hunter"  line after the war-- However, I suspect yours might have been made shortly before the war-- No idea who the lady was, probably the owner.-- It would have been a great camp knife for a lady.

Marina Kelly Had good taste in knives

Thanks John for the info

This is the first Ka-Bar in my collection and hopefully not the last

and its all ways fun to find a knife with a history
