Eafengrow EF159 knife
This boy is good sized! Definitely a chopper.
The handle is slightly squared off on the top. I have read and seen reviews where they say it really does not make a hot spot, but I am planning on rounding it over just a little.

The handle...

Out of the box it has a pattern of very shallow radiused ridges.  As you can see from the photo, they are not very deep at all.  But if you are paying close attention, you can feel them.  I am suspecting that they are purposely put onto the surface to increase the 'grippyness' of the handle.  I guess it works, but it is not really what I like.

SO.  In addition to putting a slight radius on the top and bottom 'corners' of the handle, I am in the process of removing all of those little ridge buggers.  The screws on one side of the handle use a T9 torx driver, whereas the other side use a T8.  I am pretty sure the T8 screws into the T9 screw.  But I am also sure that they used loc-tite or something.  Those are TIGHT!!!    I bore down on the drivers pretty good, but I did not want to strip out the head either...  So those screws remain.

I am now having the cover up each head carefully, so I do not accidently contact them and mar the black finish on the screw heads.  I have one side pretty much finished, but the other side is all but untouched.  To me, I like the feel of my refinished handles a lot more than before.  But that is a personal preference.  Most of my coworkers (that I showed it to) did not seem to notice the ridges at all until I had one side pretty much re-done.  They were then able to feel the difference.  Most remarked that one side was a lot smoother than the other, but they did not say if they actually preferred it.

Man, I keep thinking about this knife now...  Might have to pick one up sometime soon.  Things are going to be especially tight for us over the next couple months -- but this might be a priority...  I really like those specs.  Even at almost 1/4" thick, it looks slicey.  And the cant of the blade is more appealing than the TOPS Bushcraft Kukri...  At a fraction of the price...!

Ach -- I've gotta stop thinking about this knife!  But please keep posting about it!  :)
