Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

From Greg @ TSA:

GEC is a MAJOR Donor (again!!) in the Flood / Tornado Auction!

Once again Great Eastern Cutlery (at the suggestion of Christine Tucker) has stepped forward (without any hesitation or outside encouragement to do so), to help folks in a tough situation.  GEC has generously donated two of the upcoming Lacewood handled Factory Test Production Run knives to be auctioned here to raise money for the Flood and Tornado victims in the southern states.

Apparently, within minutes of my blog post regarding an auction I'd planned to raise money for the victims, Chris was on the phone to Ken and it was agreed they wanted to participate in the effort.  And they're doing so in a big way.  In case you've forgotten or didn't know, last year GEC donated knives for Wounded Warrior Project Auctions and GEC has already donated the Sunfish Black Buffalo Horn Sunfish for an upcoming Wounded Warrior Project Auction.  They're always ready to step up to the plate without even being askedThese are the kind of folks I like to do business with!!!!  Thanks in advance.

I'll be putting up more details as to when, what and how the auctions will take place as soon as the knives come in, which should be very soon.  There will be a number of very limited run knives offered for auction.

Again I ask all of you to start spreading the word as I hope we can raise as much cash as possible to help out.  And please make sure everyone you talk to knows what kind of people are making Great Eastern Cutlery!!!!

Miss Jan, this is very good and shows good knives and good people go together. I know it will be a success again. I would like to make a small sugesstion, instead of an auction have a raffle. Instead of one person putting up a little money, alot of people would have a chance to donate. Just an idea. I'll bet alot more people donate and alot more money is raised.

Robert,

That was the original discussion.  But in MN, if he has a raffle he has to have a gaming licence so this was the next best opportunity.  We have been successful with the ones in the past they have gone from between 200-400.  Decent moneyand it always goes for the best of causes.  Whenever Greg says he wants to buy a special knife to hold an auction GEC steps up and says, we give the knife...you do the work.  Bless them all for caring about our communities

The Auction has begun.....

Wounded Warrior Auction ~ Bid here 538311 Kauri Wood RARE!!

I wanted to get this Wounded Warrior Project auction in before Memorial Day.   This is a rare Great Eastern knife and a real find for anyone interested in the 53 Stockman.  To the best of my knowledge, only 4 of the Northfield 538311's were made with the Ancient Kauri Wood.  This is one of them.  Very good looking and extremely hard to find!

All of the proceeds above the $120 opening bid will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.  To bid, simply reply to this post with your bid.  Bidding will end at mid-nite, CST on Sunday, May 29th.  BID AT ........http://blog.tsaknives.com/2011/05/23/wounded-warrior-auction--bid-h...

I encourage everyone to visit the Wounded Warrior Project website to see the good things that these donations are used for.

Bid Here on the GEC Disaster Relief Auction Knife!!!!

A while back Great Eastern Cutlery donated a couple of knives to be auctioned off to help raise funds for the tornado and flood victims in the southern states.  Between field trips, rendezvous', etc, the second knife hasn't been put up for auction yet.  After hearing the news story yesterday that FEMA is suspending or limiting funding to Missouri due to the recent hurricane on the East coast, it's definitely time to try to raise some more cash to help out.

It's been a particularly tough year financially for a lot of the country and these natural disasters have made some of the problems even worse.  Great Eastern has made similar donations in the past which I think is incredibly generous on their part.  And to try to sweeten the deal a bit more, I'm adding a $50 TSA Knives gift certificate to the auction.

Here's what we've got....

#563311 Tidioute Weaver Jack, Factory Test Production Run, serial #02 of 11 knives finished with Lace Wood Handles.

So the winning bidder will receive the knife AND a $50 TSA Knives store gift certificate.  100% of the proceeds will be donated to the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army (winning bidders choice).  To place a bid, simply "Leave a Comment" to this post with your bid amount.  Bids will be accepted until 6:00PM CST Monday September 5, 2011.  Spread the word, tell your friends, bid high and bid often!!!

New Wounded Warrior Knife Auction Starts Today!!!

The history of this particular knife deserves some explanation.

This spring, Luca, who is an active member of the IKC board, put the time and effort into putting together the orders necessary for a special run of #362211STL Sunfish finished with Black Buffalo Horn.  It turned out to be an outstanding looking Sunfish.  As this was 'his project' I asked him and got the okay for a Prototype knife of the series which would be auctioned for the Wounded Warrior Project.

My intent was to purchase the knife and auction it off but that's not the way it worked out.  When Great Eastern found out what I intended on doing, once again they stepped up and donated the knife.  I've lost track of how many knives GEC has donated to be auctioned off to raise funds for different charitable organizations but this is another classic example of their generosity.

So here's what is being offered for bid:

  • Prototype #362211STL Sunfish with Black Buffalo Horn
  • Prototype Blade Etch & COA
  • Deep Stamped Un-X-LD logo in the blade
  1. Bids will be accepted starting immediately until 7PM CST Wednesday ,September 28.
